Do people still visit Area 51

The United States Air Force facility commonly known as Area 51 is a highly classified remote detachment of Edwards Air Force Base, within the Nevada Test and Training Range. According to the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), the correct names for the facility are Homey Airport and Groom Lake, though the name Area 51 was used in a CIA document from the Vietnam War. The facility has also been referred to as Dreamland and Paradise Ranch, among other nicknames. USAF public relations has referred to the facility as "an operating location near Groom Dry Lake". The special use airspace around the field is referred to as Restricted Area 4808 North (R-4808N).

Do people still visit Area 51

I remember when i was growing up Area 51 was the big topic in my house, my Dad just loved the idea of going down there and just doing the typical tourist thing of taking a picture by the signs.

i had a interest in all the establishments in the area focused on Aliens and UFOs.

is this still a big thing? would you recommend i take my father on a trip down there?

Yes people still go there. From what I’ve seen the last few years it’s been more active and they have been very serious about getting to close. Some get arrested and some just get a warning. I would not step foot on the other side of those signs right now. Snipers and those famous black unmarked trucks still patrol and sit in the mountains.
